Room Mates and my ROOM!

My Room Mates (the two that are here out of the five that will be in my "room"):

Janine (20 years old, Switzerland, speaks Swiz-German, English, and some French): She is in the process of learning English and came here 3 weeks early (before the DTS) so that she could practice speaking. She and I share a room. Something that's really cool about us getting to share a room is that we are both apart from our boyfriends. (well... it's not "cool" but I'm glad we have it in common... yah) She has been dating her boyfriend for the last year and a half. She has been such a blessed because she has been giving me verses and praying over me missing John. She gave me the verse, "Delight yourself in the Lord and he shall give you the desires of your heart... commit your ways always to him" as well as others. I love her dearly and cannot wait to get to know her more. She has the greatest curly hair and am soooo jealous and have told her I'm going to cut her hair in the middle of the night and make a wig for myself... she just looked at me like I am crazy and shakes her head, "that's not funny... no no" and then winks ;)

Maggie (28 years old, Holland, speaks Dutch, English (really well), and French): She arrived the same day I did and has been sooo much fun! It's weird because our age difference doesn't... matter. lol We spent like two hours chatting this morning about politics, culture differences, the Lord, and more things. We decorated our room today :) and put together a lamp (lol which included breaking half of the lamp... but it's good now... I'll try and post pictures asap). Her plans after the DTS are to travel Australia for half a year before returning to her teaching job (she teaches Art). She's a sweetie and has a great laugh. She is here for the Boarder's DTS.. she snow boards and wants to learn to surf (which she will).

Silent Disco: I don't know if some of you have heard about "Silent Disco" but apparently it's big in Holland. It's where you go to a Disco room and you get a head set. There are two DJ's in the head phones and you can choose which 'station' to listen to. You dance and sing and when you take your head phones off... everyone sounds like complete idiots because they're singing along to... nothing. haha I really wanna try that... haha sounds very entertaining.

Room: Before I left my dear darling Eleya sister friend gave me a scrapbook. It's filled with pictures and letters from my wonderful family and friends. I have taken some of my favorite pages out and stuck them to my wall. I'm also going to (eventually.... when I have time) going to put up my quotes from my quote wall back home. My room mates LOVE my "quotes book" and look through it for "inspiration" lol. :) Thank you, Eleya! I appreciate the book soooooo sooooooo much!

That's all for now. :)

Prayer Request:

Pray for our internet... if I ever wanna get these pictures online... just pray for the internet and skype :S thank you!

-Shanna
