Traveling and HERE! August 28th

Hello All!
This post is going to be short because I'm tired and need some sleep. However, before I go pass out I wanted to let everyone know that I am safe here in Australia! Here's a little info. about what I'm up to:

I flew out Aug. 26th at 3:45 p.m. from Sea Tac headed to Salt Lake City connected to L.A. and finally went over to Sydney. I traveled for over 30 hours and slept for about tweleve of those hours. God blessed me with safe, smooth, and quite relaxing flights. The last two flights I had a row completely to myself. Soooo... I slept! I was so tired because I was so emotionally drained from saying some very hard goodbyes to my family and John at security.

But... I'm here! I've already gotten to know some amazing people from all over the world... Egypt, Australia, South America, and even Ohio to name a few.
The Base is three stories high. There's a girl's dorm, boy's dorm, bathrooms, offices, worship hall, chill room (with TV, games, couches, and piano), recording studio, dance hall (with wooden floors and such), prayer room, work out room and more. I share a room (really three rooms in one) with five other girls. Right now there's only me and one other girl in there. She's from Switzerland and is still in the process of learning English. She came here early to get some practice in, what faith!!!

Right now I don't have a lot to do. My PADTS (Performing Arts Discipleship Training School) doesn't start for a week. So I'm just hanging out with the staff and getting settled until students arrive. My specific DTS has 15 students enrolled and 6 staff members heading it up. The staff get back from their training this evening (Aug. 28th here, Aug. 27th there... weird) and students start coming in tomorrow.

Prayer Requests: I'm very homesick already. I know for a fact that over the next six months I'm going to learn a dependence upon Christ that I would never have been able to experience if I had not come here... however, I'm still filled with heartache and fear. Please pray for Christ to fill me with the "Peace that surpasses all understanding" as he has promised he shall. Please also be praying for the hearts of those we'll be reaching in the next six months. My prayer is that Christ will prepare them to hear the good news and that God will move in incredible ways... ways that I can't even imagine!

I love and miss you all very very much! God Bless you and thank you all, once again, for your support and love.

  2. Congratulations on your arrival! Soak in the sights and sounds, because there's so much you experience traveling that you can't even put into words. I know you'll be a blessing to everyone there, and it's interesting that your only roommate to have arrived is the one who can use some help with English. Hmmmmmm, I wonder who could be a blessing to her? The ministry of being a blessing to others begins already! love you, Aunt Jean
