California

On Wednesday after working, visiting friends at the hospital, fighting a cold, and taking a two hour flight to San Francisco to visit Donnie I boarded a shuttle headed for Palo Alto! It was 11 p.m.- I was tired- I had no tissues for my runny nose- I was coughing- I was a mess. Anyways as I sat in the shuttle van waiting for the other passengers to hurry up and get going I saw the sweetest little moment unfold.

I watched as a man in his thirties rolled a huge cart full of luggage to the curb. He looked tired and had a very cute little pink backpack on. In a few minutes my quizzical expression left my face as a sweet blonde lady walked up with three beautiful little girls. She carried one about two in her arms and following were probably about a 6 and 8 year old. They were all in their cute little sun dresses and looked exhausted. I watched as the parents chatted about (probably) transportation. The dad headed to chat to the transportation guy person and the mom gave one of her daughters her sweater. When dad got back he took off his over shirt and wrapped it around his other daughter who was shivering next to her mom. Dad picked up one of the girls. Mom held on to the hand of one of the others and then held the other in her arms. They all stood huddled together in the brisk evening breeze waiting for the shuttle to arrive. I wish I had not been limited by social boundaries and had taken a picture but yah I agree that'd be creepery. It was quite precious and they deserve parent awards. You could tell the parents were so tired and just wanted to be asleep but they cuddled and loved on their kids.

I'm having a nice relaxing time with Donnie. I toured facebook, slept by the pool, read two books, watched a season of 30 Rock, and got my hair cut. :)
